Due to the rapid degradation of forest and lack of an awareness program to community people about environmental issues, the balance of ecology is decreasing daily. Flooding and pollution are the main concerns for environmental degradation We Volunteer Nepal has always cared about environmental issues since its establishment.
Environmental awareness project:
Environmental awareness project will be defined by the individual volunteers based upon their areas of expertise and the needs of the village community. Example projects include: creating “green” clubs, planting a flower garden, planting trees, garbage management, recycling program, making a smokeless stove, building a toilet pit etc. volunteers may also provide assistance to youth clubs or women’s group in the community sharing their ideas, skills and knowledge about environmental issues.
We have recently rolled out a number of projects at government schools throughout Nepal with the kind support of our partners, volunteers from around the world and the school management committees.
As well as providing much needed support to the schools the volunteers have the opportunity to learn about Nepali culture through staying with a host family.
